(November 29, 2021) – Advancing their commitment to help reduce work-related injuries, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions (www.atlas-ips.com) is pleased to announce an upcoming safety presentation at the 2021 Oil & Gas Safety and Health Conference in Houston, being held December 14-15, 2021. Atlas Director, Kris Corbett, will present a session titled “Construction Risks and Solutions for a Healthy and Safe Project” on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 4:00PM.
The NIOSH Total Worker Health (TWH)™ approach is clear that improving the health and wellness of employees will consequently and inherently improve injury risk and safety. Atlas has long understood and appreciated the interdependence between health, injury avoidance, and safety behaviors and integrates this philosophical approach with nearly every client.
In addition, construction's jobs crisis has been growing for decades, and the issue is widespread. At the same time, the pandemic has made it harder to meet labor needs, as a large amount of the workforce retired, and younger are seeking more flexibility and higher pay. Now more than ever the construction industry is challenged to make sure employers can attract and keep their workforce healthy and well.
In this presentation, Kris will lean on her construction expertise to explore key concerns that many jobsites are experiencing while providing solutions to improve the health, safety, and productivity of the workforce. Strategies for improving workers physical and mental readiness will include:
- Injury Triage and Early Intervention
- Onsite Injury Prevention and Ergonomic Coaching
- Wellness and Emotional Health Coaching
- Mindfulness/Situational Awareness Coaching
Kris has over 25 years of experience in injury prevention and wellness, creating innovative and effective strategies for companies or projects looking to achieve a more productive, healthy, and injury-free workforce. Kris' unique expertise in mindfulness, behavioral safety, and change methodology has been blended into strategies to provide high levels of engagement and injury reduction.
