(October 5, 2022) – Continuing our commitment to helping educate employers on ways to reduce costs and prevent work-related injuries, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions is pleased to announce Director, Kris Corbett, will present at the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) National Conference. The conference will be held at the San Diego Marriot Marquis, California, October 9-11, 2022. The "Industry Trends & Solutions to Improve Worker Readiness” session will occur on Monday, October 10, 2022, at 11:45 am.
Over the past 20 years, Kris Corbett has worked with construction companies across the country, providing effective injury prevention and wellness solutions to combat work-related injuries.
The construction workforce is changing, and the issue of worker readiness is widespread. At the same time, the pandemic has made it harder to meet demand, as many of the workforce retired, and our younger generations seek more flexibility and higher pay for their careers. So now, more than ever, is the time to ensure we have programs to attract and keep your workforce healthy and well.
During the session, Kris will discuss a customized safety construction program designed to combat industry risks while teaching strategies that can be used for a healthier, safer, and more productive worksite. Topics covered will include:
- An overview of the latest construction statistics and trends
- Strategies to assist with worksite concerns (musculoskeletal injuries, inattentiveness, emotional health, and wellness)
- Learn about the newest shift from onsite EMTs to Early Intervention Specialists
- Explore coaching methods to engage and promote positive change.
The session will explore programs and results from a large capital project that wanted to impact safety while extending the company’s health and safety mission to those working on the job site.
Corbett States: “In high-risk trades like construction, the potential for severe or fatal accidents is constant, and a worker whose mind is elsewhere, and or body is not prepared for the task at hand is inherently more likely to be injured or potentially cause a catastrophic situation.”
