(January 31, 2023) – The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) continues to emphasize the importance of Total Worker Health®. NIOSH has the goal to protect workers by combining injury prevention with employee wellness efforts.
In support of the NIOSH goal, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions (www.atlas-ips.com) is pleased to announce our upcoming presentation at the 2023 Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) Conference in San Antonio, TX, February 6-8, 2023. Atlas Director, Kris Corbett, will present a session titled “Behavioral Change and Total Worker Health in Volatile and Uncertain Times” on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
The NIOSH Total Worker Health™ approach is clear that improving the health and wellness of employees will consequently and inherently improve injury risk and safety. Atlas has long understood and appreciated the interdependence between health, injury avoidance, and safety behaviors and integrates this philosophical approach with its clients. In this presentation Kris will lean on her decades long construction expertise to explore key concerns that many jobsites are experiencing while providing solutions to improve the health, safety, and productivity of the workforce.
In her presentation, Kris will recognize the construction industry is changing, and push attendees to not be left behind using traditional training and education. She will teach best practices for promotion and improvement of worksite health and safety, including the latest statistics and improvement opportunities around attentiveness, productivity, ergonomics, and physical and emotional health. Attendees will discover best practices and the benefits around:
- Strategies to improve workforce safety and identify health trends the industry is facing
- The importance of being in the moment and common situational awareness and attentiveness issues around the job-site
- Onsite wellness and emotional health coaching and the Six Stages of Change
- The aging workforce and combating the complications around chronic diseases
Kris has over 25 years of experience in injury prevention and wellness, creating innovative and effective strategies for companies looking to achieve a more productive, healthy, and injury-free workforce. Kris' unique expertise in mindfulness and behavioral safety and change methodology has been blended into strategies to provide high levels of engagement and injury reduction.
