Grand Haven, Michigan (January 18, 2021) – Continuing our commitment to help educate employers on ways to avoid work-related injuries, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions is pleased to announce we will present with Tenet Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest healthcare providers, at the National Ergonomics Conference & ErgoExpo.  This presentation “Managing Injuries in Hospitals: A Comprehensive Solution for a Complex Environment” will occur virtually on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 2:00 PM EST.

Curt DeWeese, Physical Therapist and Director at Atlas, a 30-year industry veteran in preventing, managing, and treating work-related musculoskeletal injuries in healthcare environments, will introduce attendees to the components of a successful injury management program designed specifically for healthcare environments.

Injuries continue to be a challenge for caregivers. According to a 2019 U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report on injury incidence rates, healthcare related job titles occupy 4 of the top 12 positions with the highest injury rates.  Curt states, “Nurses, residential care facilities, EMT services, and long-term care providers are experiencing musculoskeletal disorders that are often preventable with proper training, technique and equipment.”
Tricia Finley, Manager of Workers’ Compensation/Auto for Tenet Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest healthcare providers, will present with Curt.  Tricia brings over 20 years’ experience in risk management, identifying trends and benchmarks to reduce frequency and severity of injuries.

Curt and Tricia will outline the guiding principles woven into WIMS (Work Injury Management System), Tenet’s internal best practice for injury prevention and management.   The presentation will also discuss the infrastructure to support the program, key injury management and prevention elements, and key participants and their roles.
