Grand Haven, Michigan (April 23, 2018) – In an ongoing effort to advance injury prevention and pain management, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions announces the launch of At-Clinic Early Intervention, a revolutionary approach offering physical therapy facilities as the first point of contact for the assessment and care of minor work-related muscle sprains and strains.

The new service provides an alternative to the costs and prescription remedies employers and employees typically experience as they navigate the traditional process of sending employees to the ER, urgent care, or other medical provider.

“Not every medical provider has the same level of understanding of the musculoskeletal system that a trained physical/occupational therapist or athletic trainer has,” says Curt DeWeese, PT, Atlas IPS Director. “They can more effectively assess the employee’s condition and, as appropriate, provide OSHA-approved, non-reportable, first aid care. If deemed appropriate, they can travel to the employee’s worksite, review their work methods, and provide training on how to avoid future injury.”

Atlas currently provides full- and part-time Onsite Early Intervention services at numerous client sites, including those in manufacturing, distribution, transportation, and construction environments.

The expansion into At-Clinic Early Intervention augments part-time onsite programs and provides a solution for smaller sites. The service can also be fully integrated with Atlas’ 24/7 telephonic nurse triage program to uniquely offer a higher level of face-to-face contact, intervention, and worksite training for musculoskeletal complaints.

“By sending employees with minor work-related muscle sprains and strains to one of the thousands of clinics in our network, employers can easily obtain appropriate care for their employees and place a speed bump in the progression of a case,” says DeWeese.

“The success of Early Intervention programs has been proven over many years and we are seeing an explosion in client interest. The challenge has been offering simple, cost-effective options to support big client sites, small client sites, and those with off-shift or weekend work schedules,” says Jim Landsman, Atlas IPS President. “Through the use of full- and part-time resources, telephonic nurse triage services, and now an at-clinic option, I believe we can configure a solution for any client.”
