Grand Haven, MIJune 4, 2010—Atlas Ergonomics, LLC, known for proven, practical strategies for reducing work-related injuries and related costs, will share its latest findings in a workshop at the American Society of Safety Engineers national conference, June 13 through 16, 2010 in Baltimore.

In the Wednesday June 16 session, "Transportation Ergonomics: Factors Leading to Discomfort and Injury," Atlas ergonomic services director David Brodie will present a year-long study of 28,000+ truck drivers, showing correlations between driver physiology, cab environment and risks of specific injuries. The study proved that simple, low-cost adjustments to cabs and drivers' routines can measurably reduce injury risk and associated costs.

The introductory-to-intermediate session will include Atlas case studies and highlight key strategies for the unique ergonomic challenges of the transportation environment.

In addition to the presentation, Atlas will share information throughout the conference at booth #2811. Conference attendees are invited to meet and speak with Brodie during exhibition hours.

Brodie, Atlas' Director of Ergonomic Services, is a Board Certified Professional Ergonomist with 15 years of experience and two degrees in kinesiology.

The American Society of Safety Engineers is the premier professional development event year after year for Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) professionals. It features the most extensive educational and networking opportunities offered to the profession.
