Grand Haven, Michigan (October 24, 2017) – In our continued effort to advance knowledge on injury prevention, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions announces it will present through the ErgoExpo Webinar series produced by the National Ergonomics Conference and ErgoExpo.
Atlas directors Tony Silva, CPE and Curt DeWeese, PT will present Achieving Best Outcomes: Combining Early Intervention and Ergonomics in a one-hour session on November 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. ET/ 11 a.m. PT. The webinar is free to all attendees who register at http://www.ergoexpo.com/webinars.html.
In the session, Silva and DeWeese will present the case for building a program that marries the approach of ergonomists and therapists to create a more robust approach to injury prevention. The program will highlight how an effective and compliant early intervention program, coupled with on-site workplace ergonomics recognition, evaluation and control methods, can reduce injury risk and help companies develop solutions that help avoid additional aggravation of an employee’s injury.
As a result of the session, attendees will:
- Understand OSHA compliance requirements for early intervention programs
- Learn how to effectively recognize, evaluate and control ergonomic hazards
- Discuss the impact on employers of combining both approaches
Silva is a Certified Professional Ergonomist with over 20 years of experience. Silva’s knowledge set includes ergonomics program development, communication and implementation, with specialization in the integration of ergonomics into existing business practices such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
DeWeese is a 25-year industry veteran in treating work-related musculoskeletal injuries who has worked onsite in manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, and office environments and has designed several injury prevention programs.
