Grand Haven, Michigan (May 20, 2019) – Continuing our commitment to help educate employers on ways to avoid work-related injuries, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions is pleased to announce our Executive Vice President, Drew Bossen, will present at the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Conference and Expo at the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Convention Center, June 9 -12, 2019.
Over the past 30 years Drew has worked with companies across the country, large and small, providing highly effective solutions to combat work related injuries. At the conference in New Orleans, Drew will present a session titled “Size Matters: The Implications of a ‘Well’ Workforce” on Monday, June 10, 2019.
Understanding the implications of a "Well" workforce is vital in developing a safe and productive workforce; ignoring the implications can be very costly to an organization. Drew’s presentation will review the intersection of the aging work-force, obesity, and the metabolic disease states (diabetes, cardio-vascular disease, etc.) that affect a worker’s ability to perform their jobs.
“Today, our nation is fast approaching a state where 70% of the population will be considered overweight or obese,” says Drew Bossen. “As we study the relationship between obesity, the prevalence of related health issues, and the associated costs of chronic disease, it is clear that our nation is facing a monumental challenge.
