Grand Haven, MI (May 15, 2015) – Advancing our continued commitment to delivering comprehensive injury prevention and management services, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions (Atlas IPS) is pleased to announce one of our top injury prevention experts will be leading a key session at the upcoming American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHce) 2015 conference (http://aihce2015.org/). The conference will be held May 30-June 4, 2015 at the Salt Palace Convention Center, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Tony Silva, CPE, Director of Ergonomic Services for Atlas, will share a case study on how Six Sigma methodology can improve office ergonomics. The session, titled Six Sigma Approach to Improving your Office Ergonomics Process, will be held Monday, June 1 from 12:10 PM- 12:30 PM in Conference Room PO 103.

Silva will outline how some organizations with long-running ergonomics programs have hit performance plateaus. The session will show how organizations can improve their ergonomics programs utilizing Six Sigma. Some of the key takeaways of the session include:

  • When and how to use different Six Sigma methods to collect Voice of the Customer and determine Critical to Quality characteristics
  • How to analyze root cause with Fishbone diagrams and brainstorming techniques to develop process improvements
  • Running pilots and testing improvements before rolling out corporate wide

“So many organizations either can’t push past a certain performance level or don’t know how to,” says Silva. “This session will show attendees how a data-driven approach helped a large financial institution better measure, improve and control their program. The result was a significant reduction in ergonomics process errors and a more standardized approach to evaluation and control of ergonomic risks.”
