Grand Haven, Michigan (April 3, 2017) – Furthering our dedication to providing the most comprehensive offering of injury prevention solutions in the industry, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions (www.atlas-ips.com) has expanded both our management team and our geographic reach with the acquisition of Work Injury Solutions (http://workinjurysolutions.com), and of the addition of Curt DeWeese to our senior management team.
DeWeese, PT, will serve as a Director. A 25-year industry veteran in treating work-related musculoskeletal injuries, DeWeese has worked onsite in manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, and office environments and has designed several injury prevention programs. Specifically, Atlas is excited to add his experience within healthcare organizations, evaluating patient handling risk and training staff in proper equipment use.
In his role at Atlas, DeWeese will lead sales and account management efforts, assisting companies in reducing lost work time and claim costs. He is an expert in functional testing and functional capacity assessments, and has authored several articles as well as presented at state and national conferences on work injury prevention and management. DeWeese is a graduate of the Physical Therapy program at Ithaca College.
Based in Rochester, Work Injury Solutions and Physical Therapy was established in 2003 and serves the upstate New York area. The company provides onsite services to many industries, including a focus on healthcare organizations.

The acquisition – the first for Atlas – is in response to explosive growth and a need for an expanded sales presence. “We are growing rapidly and need to bring in more leadership talent”, says Atlas president Jim Landsman. “We see Curt as one of the top onsite injury prevention specialists in the country. He’s been a great leader nationally through his work within the APTA and with OSHA, and we’re very excited about what he brings to our team. In addition, he brings a talented staff and a portfolio of clients that we’re eager to work with.”
