Grand Haven, Michigan (November 21, 2014) – Continuing our commitment to delivering comprehensive injury prevention and management services, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions (Atlas IPS) is pleased to announce that two of our injury prevention experts will be leading key sessions at the upcoming National Ergonomics Conference & Ergo Expo (www.ergoexpo.com)  December 2-5, 2014 at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas.

Drew Bossen, PT, MBA, executive vice president of Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions, and Tony Silva, CPE, director of ergonomic services, will lead a number of sessions designed to help attendees understand how to improve ergonomic programs and decrease costs while improving results. Bossen, a physical therapist with over 35 years of experience in injury prevention and treatment protocol development, has expertise in on-site clinical services, ergonomics and wellness strategies, and compliance.

Silva is a Certified Professional Ergonomist with over 18 years of experience. Silva’s knowledge set includes ergonomics program development, communication and implementation, with specialization in the integration of ergonomics into existing business practices such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Drew Bossen will co-present a program titled Addressing the Needs of a Manually Intensive Work Environment. Alongside Alex Tomash, CSP, senior EHS manager for MasterBrand Cabinets, Inc., Bossen will share MasterBrand’s ergonomics story, including challenges faced and successful outcomes of employing a comprehensive ergonomics plan.
 
On-site Physical Therapy: A Strategy to “Free” Injury Prevention Dollars
Thursday, Dec. 4, 2:15 - 3:15 p.m. Location to be announced
Bossen heads a session that will detail how converting line-item PT spends to an onsite physical therapy program can result in a significant decrease in costs and an improved efficiency of care. Bossen will show how staff can benefit from early intervention, injury prevention, ergonomics, and wellness processes by strategic re-allocation of current physical therapy dollars.
 
Proactive Industrial Ergonomics
Tuesday, December 2, 1:30-5 p.m., Room WS8
Tony Silva heads a presentation of hands-on exercises that help you develop skills to evaluate and control ergonomic hazards in any industrial setting. Silva will show attendees how to develop proactive approaches to ergonomic risk mitigation in industrial environments, evaluate, quantify and prioritize ergonomic risk using ergonomic assessment tools, and determine the root cause of ergonomic risks and develop effective solutions.
 
Using Six Sigma Methodologies to Improve Your Office Ergonomics Process
Thursday, December 4, 4:45-5:45 pm., Room PM8
Silva and co-presenter, Patti Rutter, RN, COHN/CM, CHC, vice president of JPMorgan Chase, will share how Six Sigma methodologies improved office ergonomics processes at one of the nation’s largest financial institutions. Silva and Rutter will present the processes used to cover over 180,000 employees in over 5,000 locations, plus lessons learned and best practices.
