PRESS RELEASE
GRAND HAVEN, Mich., October 13, 2013 — Atlas Ergonomics (www.atlasergo.com) founder Drew Bossen, PT, MBA will receive the highest honor granted by the Private Practice Section of the American Physical Therapy Association at the group’s annual conference in New Orleans on November 6. The Robert G. Dicus Award, presented to only one person each year, recognizes individuals “who have made outstanding contributions to (the) profession and in support of private practice physical therapy,” according to the group’s official statement. "I am humbled to receive the 2013 Dicus Award", Bossen said. "Previous Dicus Award recipients are universally recognized as the icons of our industry. They have forged the path for physical therapy as we know it today. I am so very respectful of their journey to advance the profession over the years, and to be included within their ranks is a true honor." Bossen began his career as a hospital physical therapist, and became director of a hospital-based program before opening a private practice in 1989. He continues in a leadership role at Progressive Rehabilitation Associates in Iowa City. In 2002, he founded Atlas Ergonomics to prove the bottom-line value of preventing worker injuries and to engage the nation's employers in doing so. Atlas has since grown to help literally hundreds of companies and millions of workers by measurably reducing the risks of at-work injuries through the nation’s largest injury prevention service provider network, which is primarily supported by physical therapists. "This is truly a lifetime achievement award," said Atlas president Jim Landsman. "I'm exceedingly proud to know Drew and to continue to work with and learn from him. No other individual I know of has done so much to preserve worker health, safety and wellness across so many different industries."
