Grand Haven, Michigan (November 19, 2018) – Continuing our commitment to help educate employers on ways to avoid work-related injuries, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions is pleased to announce our onsite early intervention expert Curt DeWeese, PT and Director with Atlas IPS, will co-present with Kevin Hollingshead, Director of HSE with DB Schenker, at the National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference & Expo at the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas Hotel, December 5-7, 2018.

Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in room South Pacific, Curt DeWeese will introduce attendees to the components of a successful onsite early intervention program.  These services will prevent minor musculoskeletal discomfort from progressing into OSHA recordable injuries with potential for lost time and need for additional medical care. Success with these programs requires applying the right resources, including OSHA-allowable first aid, worksite evaluation, job coaching, and correcting ergonomic stressors.

Kevin Hollingshead of DB Schenker will explain how a worldwide logistics and transportation employer reduced musculoskeletal disorders by implementing such a program across multiple distribution sites. “Musculoskeletal work-related injuries are a frustrating situation for all,” says DeWeese. “Our goal is to create an early intervention program that identifies root causes of discomfort and create a process to reduce further injury.”

DeWeese is a 25-year industry veteran in preventing, managing, and treating work-related musculoskeletal injuries in the distribution, manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, and office environments.

“We are pleased to present our solutions and outcomes to the National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference attendees,” says DeWeese. “At Atlas, it has always been our mission to continue to improve injury prevention methodology, and to further our industry’s collective knowledge through a sharing of real-world problems and solutions.”
