Grand Haven, Michigan (March 4, 2016) – Continuing its goal to advance the knowledge and practice of injury prevention, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions (www.atlas-ips.com) will present an educational session at the Applied Ergonomics Conference in Orlando, Florida.

The session will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Durango 2 room at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. For more information, visit the Applied Ergonomics Conference website.

Tony Silva, CPE, Atlas IPS Certified Professional Ergonomist, will present The Evolution of an Office Ergonomics and Reasonable Accommodation Process, a session detailing how one of the world’s largest, multinational professional services firms used Six Sigma to improve their response to reasonable accommodation requests, and standardize their approach to evaluating and controlling ergonomic hazards.

“This client was able to move to a more a data-driven approach to measure their ergonomics program performance,” says Silva. “By standardizing their approach, the company was able to move quickly and efficiently handle reasonable accommodation requests.”

“This client had a number of challenges, including a large segment of the workforce working remotely or using hoteling stations (shared workspaces),” Silva says. “Providing reasonable accommodation in this environment can present some real challenges. Now, the process is refined and management of the office services related to reasonable requests is handled through a centralized system. We worked closely with this client to give them a customized ergonomics plan that encompassed all areas of the workforce.”
