Atlas IPS Partners with Emerge Diagnostics to Improve Diagnosis of Costly MSDs

Grand Haven, Michigan and Carlsbad, California (April 22, 2019) – Emerge Diagnostics, a California-based company focused on the evaluation of soft tissue injuries, has partnered with Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions (Atlas IPS). Through the partnership Atlas IPS can more accurately diagnose and direct care for individuals, helping clients reduce the spiraling costs of musculoskeletal disorders.
Emerge Diagnostics’ Electrodiagnostic Functional Assessment Soft Tissue Management (EFA-STM) program is a bookend solution. A baseline EFA evaluation can be conducted with both job applicants and current employees, and is stored unread in a secure database. In the case of a work-related event, a second EFA is conducted and compared to the baseline to determine if a change in condition has occurred. If so, the comparison helps define the best site-specific treatment approach.
The EFA-STM program utilizes FDA-cleared Class II technology. The innovative program is a noninvasive, non-loading evaluation that combines five American Medical Association accepted tests into one comprehensive, objective, and reproducible evaluation for musculoskeletal disorders. These five tests include Range of Motion, Functional Assessment, Pinch Strength, Grip Strength, and Electromyography (EMG), and are customizable to the client’s needs.
“Our mission is to provide the tools and resources to help our clients reduce and avoid the costs of work-related injuries,” says Jim Landsman, President of Atlas IPS. “Whether our solutions are preventative like post-offer screens, ergonomics, and early intervention, or providing EFAs as a superior evaluation and treatment method, our goal is the same.”
Robert Thompson, CEO of Emerge Diagnostics stated, “We are excited to be a part of the suite of solutions Atlas IPS is able to offer to nearly every US employer. I believe the combination of our technology and their complimentary solutions, nationwide network of service professionals, and experienced leadership team makes our joint offering very attractive.”
