Grand Haven, MI (April 8, 2016) – With a continued focus on advancing the knowledge and practice of injury prevention, Atlas Injury Prevention Solutions will be participating in an educational session at theNational Private Truck Council (NPTC) 2016 Education Management Conference & Exhibition, held April 24-26, 2016 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The session will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 10:15 a.m. at the Duke Energy Convention Center. For more information on the conference, please visit the NPTC website.

Atlas expert Drew Bossen, PT, MBA, will moderate the educational session, Pre-Employment Screening: What Every Trucking Industry Employer Needs to Know, along with co-presenters Susan Curtis of CHS Transport and Albert Lee of Tucker Arensberg Law. The session will examine the issues organizations need to address when building a pre-work screen process, and present case studies that illustrate the impact of understanding and mitigating legal risks.

Curtis will discuss CHS and its pre-work screening and vetting process, and what logistics companies need to consider when launching a process. Also, Lee will discuss the legal issues companies need to consider, including federal employment guidelines, disparate impact, and interactions with employers.

“Pre-work screens are an important strategy for carriers to consider during their on-boarding process,” says Bossen. “By presenting this information to the NPTC members and attendees, our hope is to help companies improve hiring practices and reduce lost-time injuries.

“We at Atlas are proud to be part of this important session, and we look forward to helping NPTC members improve their screening processes.”
